What Is Aveli® Cellulite Treatment?

Aveli® is the latest minimally invasive, FDA-cleared device to help reduce visible cellulite. The device works by allowing Dr. Vandegrift to manually sever the connective tissue bands (fibrous septa) that stiffen or shrink, which causes pulling on the skin that creates cellulite dimples. What Can I Expect During an Aveli® Procedure?

Check-in and Local Anesthesia

Aveli® Procedure

Following your procedural plan, Dr. Vandegrift will insert the Aveli® device through several small incisions in the treatment area. After the device is beneath the skin, Dr. Vandegrift will locate and sever the septa responsible for your cellulite dimples.

Treatment time will vary depending on your procedural plan and the number of treated areas; however, Aveli® treatment typically takes about an hour. 

Aveli® Aftercare

After your Aveli® cellulite treatment, you should expect some bruising and swelling. You may also experience some discomfort for a day or two following your treatment, especially when sitting on the treated area. Swelling and bruising may take a month to fully resolve.

Patients can resume most normal activities immediately following treatment. However, you should avoid strenuous lower body exercises, like running, for ten to fourteen days.

Depending on your procedural plan, you may be required to wear compression garments to minimize bruising and swelling.

Typically, it takes one month for swelling and bruising to subside following Aveli® treatments. Around that time, most patients will notice visible results. Most patients are well enough to return to their normal routine within a few days following their Aveli® procedure.
