Aveli Cellulite Treatment

Aveli® Cellulite Treatment in Long Island, NY with Dr. Meredith Vandegrift

Over 90% of women are affected by cellulite on the legs or buttocks, no matter their size, shape, or weight. As we age, fat cells get larger, skin gets thinner, and fibrous bands beneath the skin tighten irregularly, leading to the development of cellulite’s characteristic dimples. Cellulite, unfortunately, doesn’t respond well to typical treatments, including weight loss, exercise, massage, or topical creams. Fortunately, cellulite has finally met its match in Aveli®—the latest technological advancement that effectively smooths the appearance of cellulite dimples on the thighs and buttocks.

Choosing a knowledgeable and compassionate provider is the first step in achieving optimal results from any plastic surgery procedure. With Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Meredith Vandegrift, you can discover how the new Aveli® cellulite treatment may be the perfect choice to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

What Is Aveli® Cellulite Treatment?

Aveli® is the latest minimally invasive, FDA-cleared device to help reduce visible cellulite. The device works by allowing Dr. Vandegrift to manually sever the connective tissue bands (fibrous septa) that stiffen or shrink, which causes pulling on the skin that creates cellulite dimples. Each individual cellulite dimple can have as many as ten septa affecting it.

As the Aveli® device is unique in its function, Dr. Vandegrift can accurately identify and sever each of the septa to eliminate cellulite dimples and smooth out the skin.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite has three main causes: fat cells that are increasing in size, thinning skin, and connective tissues that are tightening irregularly. These connective tissues pull downward, creating tension on the skin, resulting in cellulite’s dimpling effect on the skin’s surface. Unfortunately, there are very few solutions to address cellulite at its foundation.

Aveli®’s unique device is the only way to effectively eliminate cellulite by releasing the tension from these fibrous bands. Aveli® aims for smoother-looking buttocks and thighs by eliminating and releasing the root cause of cellulite.

What Are the Benefits of Aveli® Cellulite Treatments?

While nearly all women are somewhat affected by cellulite, all women hate it. Aveli® can help reduce the appearance of cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs in just a single office visit.

With Aveli®’s safe and effective results and no downtime, you’ll need to get ready to spend more time showing off your smoother legs.

Following Aveli® cellulite treatment, you’ll notice:

  • Smoother looking thighs and buttocks
  • A visible reduction in cellulite dimples on thighs and buttocks
  • More youthful-looking legs

While Aveli® treats the main cause of cellulite dimples, the connective tissues pulling the skin, it doesn’t address other concerns like skin laxity or excess fat; however, Dr. Vandegrift performs other procedures that may address these issues, including:

What Can I Expect During an Aveli® Procedure?

To achieve optimal results for each patient, Dr. Vandegrift customizes all Aveli® cellulite treatments. However, here are some general steps you can expect.

Check-in and Local Anesthesia

Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our team. Then, Dr. Vandegrift will make sure you are comfortable, answer any last questions, and perform procedural markings. You will be treated with a local anesthetic in the treatment area before Dr. Vandegrift begins your Aveli® procedure.

Aveli® Procedure

Following your procedural plan, Dr. Vandegrift will insert the Aveli® device through several small incisions in the treatment area. After the device is beneath the skin, Dr. Vandegrift will locate and sever the septa responsible for your cellulite dimples.

Treatment time will vary depending on your procedural plan and the number of treated areas; however, Aveli® treatment typically takes about an hour.

Aveli® Aftercare

After your Aveli® cellulite treatment, you should expect some bruising and swelling. You may also experience some discomfort for a day or two following your treatment, especially when sitting on the treated area. Swelling and bruising may take a month to fully resolve.

Patients can resume most normal activities immediately following treatment. However, you should avoid strenuous lower body exercises, like running, for ten to fourteen days.

Depending on your procedural plan, you may be required to wear compression garments to minimize bruising and swelling.

How Soon Will I See My Aveli® Results?

Most patients experience swelling and bruising that last approximately a month after Aveli® cellulite treatment. At that time, most patients should begin to see a visible reduction in cellulite dimples.

By maintaining your healthy lifestyle and stable weight, you can expect to enjoy long-lasting results from your Aveli® cellulite treatment. Thoroughly following Dr. Vandegrift’s post-procedural instructions regarding physical activities, cleansing skin, and avoiding sun exposure will help ensure optimal results from your Aveli® cellulite treatment.

FAQ

NYC Aveli® FAQs

The cost of Aveli® is determined by your unique needs, aesthetic goals, and the number of areas treated. Following your consultation with Dr. Vandegrift, you will receive a breakdown of the cost of your Aveli® treatment.

Typically, it takes one month for swelling and bruising to subside following Aveli® treatments. Around that time, most patients will notice visible results. Most patients are well enough to return to their normal routine within a few days following their Aveli® procedure.

Typically, patients should avoid strenuous activities, like exercising or jogging, in the first two weeks after Aveli® cellulite procedure. This is to allow the area sufficient time to heal.

During your consultation, Dr. Vandegrift and her team will provide pre-treatment instructions they’d like you to follow. This may include stopping blood-thinning medications or supplements before and after your procedure to reduce your risk of bruising and ensure a smooth, healthy recovery. It’s crucial to disclose your medical history, including medical conditions, allergies, or current medications, to minimize any potential concerns regarding the treatment.

While there are no special dietary adjustments required before your Aveli® treatment, Dr. Vandergrift may recommend maintaining a healthy diet and staying hydrated for several days before treatment. She may also recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing the day of your treatment.

As a minimally invasive treatment, Aveli® cellulite treatment typically has only mild side effects. Generally, these effects are temporary and subside within a few days to a week.

Common side effects include:

  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Mild pain
  • Areas of firmness
  • Hyperpigmentation

In rare cases, serious complications, such as infection, temporary nerve irritation, or numbness in the treatment area, may occur.

No. Unlike treatments that temporarily tighten the skin to improve the appearance of cellulite, Aveli® permanently addresses the underlying causes of cellulite dimples. Typically, only a single treatment is necessary, delivering long-lasting results. It should be noted, however, that you may experience age-related skin changes, potentially revealing other areas of concern.

You may see cellulite improvement soon after Aveli® treatment, but results vary based on the degree of your cellulite. Follow-up sessions might be required to sustain your results. Lifestyle factors like diet and exercise can impact the longevity of your results.

To maintain your Aveli® treatment results, it’s essential to commit to healthy habits like a regular exercise routine, a balanced diet, and staying hydrated. During your consultation, Dr. Vandegrift and her team will discuss your goals to help you create a personalized maintenance plan.

There are no specific requirements to avoid sitting following Aveli® treatments. However, depending on the degree of cellulite, Dr. Vandegrift may recommend avoiding sitting or putting direct pressure on the treated area. Sitting normally after treatment should not impact your short- or long-term results. You may experience bruising and tenderness that can make sitting on the treatment area uncomfortable for a few days. Over-the-counter pain medications can help alleviate the discomfort.

Depending on the degree of cellulite and the extent of your procedure, Dr. Vandegrift may recommend wearing a compression garment for two weeks after treatment to help you achieve optimal results. Typically, patients experience a visible reduction in cellulite from their Aveli® treatment as swelling and bruising subsides about one month after their procedure.

Unlike many treatments that deliver temporary solutions, Aveli® addresses the root cause of cellulite to deliver long-lasting results. The Aveli® treatment device directly targets fibrous bands beneath the skin that cause dimpling. By releasing these bands, Aveli® cellulite reduction treatments smooth the surface of your skin.

As you may require multiple Aveli® sessions to achieve your goals, winter may be a practical time to begin your treatment. It also provides you plenty of time to complete your treatments before summer so that you can show off your results come swimsuit season!

If cellulite dimples are your main concern, Aveli® may be the right solution to help reduce the appearance of stubborn cellulite on the thighs or buttocks and create smoother skin. However, Aveli® treatments will not address concerns like skin laxity or excess fat pockets. During your consultation, Dr. Vandegrift will evaluate your areas of concern to help you determine whether Aveli® is appropriate for your unique situation.
